Marine Support for Major TV series

Ness Ribs were asked to supply a Floating Pontoon, Cabin RIB & Safety Boat for the filming of “A League of Their Own Great British Road Trip”

The production was based at Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness and involved siting a Versadock modular pontoon 100m from the Castle pier to act as a swim platform. RIB “Tystie” with its large open back deck and covered cabin assisted with both camera and drone shooting, while “Petrel” our Zodiac was detailed as the “safety boat” and kept a watchful eye over all the cast and crew during the filming.

Filming at A league of their own in the Highlands

In true Hollywood style the opening shots were of the presenters flying over the Highlands in World War 2 Seaplane, before sweeping over Loch Ness and landing in Urquhart Bay beside the castle. The presenters jump out and swim to the floating pontoon where they inflate pack rafts and row to shore.

The filming was successfully completed with no incidents or accidents and we look forward to watching the series in the New Year.

“Colin, thank you for everything, you and your team were an absolute pleasure to work with and I will most certainly be back in touch if we ever need film support in the Highlands again”
