Ness Ribs was established in 2009 with one 7.8 mtr RIB. The company has seen gradual growth over the past 5 years and is now the first choice from many when it comes to private, corporate or commercial RIB charter throughout the Highlands & Islands of Scotland. Ness Marine presently have a fleet of 3 vessels with further expansion expected in the near future.

Environmental Policy

Ness Ribs are committed to continuing to improve their environmental performance, minimising their environmental impact and making resource efficiency a core requirement of all their operations. We have invested in fuel efficient 4 stroke Suzuki engines, fitted fuel flow meters to help monitor fuel efficiency and so reduce Carbon burn.


Ness Ribs are active member of Wild Scotland, are WiSE (Wildlife Safe) Accredited and full members of both the RYA and RNLI


Ness Ribs are fully commercially insured for all passengers and equipment, £10,000,000 Employers liability and £10,000,000 Public Liability Insurance


Ness Ribs try and emulate the same attention to safety and good operating practice that airlines have developed, by going beyond the Industry standards to actively minimise risks within their operation. Our maintenance management system helps maintain our fleet and equipment safe and fully operational. Our Skippers are professional mariners, MCA qualified and trained in First Aid, Sea Survival and Firefighting.
