Sandwich Tern Survey

We recently carried out a Sandwich Tern Survey off the Sands of Forvie, north of Aberdeen with the JNCC (Joint Nature Conservation Committee) The Sands of Forvie is a nature reserve north of Newburgh in Aberdeenshire in the northeast of Scotland. Forvie National Nature Reserve has the fifth largest sand dune system in Britain, and the least disturbed by human activity. The Survey was two fold, ‘visual-tracking ‘ surveys (following individual birds) and ‘transect’ surveys (travelling along transects and counting birds.  More pics ..http://flic.kr/ps/2ixzVr
